To make arepas, separate the dough into 10 pieces. Take one portion, shape it into a ball, and press it with your palms to form a large patty shape of about 10 cm or 3 ½ inches in diameter. Place the patty onto a griddle or frying pan over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side, or until browned on both sides. Serve the arepa hot, and open it to fill with cheese, ham, eggs, salad, or any other desired ingredients.
